Cynefin:

Cynefin is a Welsh word meaning “haunt”, “habitat”, “acquainted”, “accustomed”, “familiar”. It carries with it a sense of rootedness—temporal, physical, cultural or spiritual. It “describes [a] relationship: the place of your birth and of your upbringing, the environment in which you live and to which you are naturally acclimatised.

Cynefin: Kernow. In this series of images, I will show you the aftermath of the mining industry’s glory days in Cornwall and how they have shaped Cornwall’s identity. through photographs of the current struggles and hardships people face amid a massive population decline and a lack of job opportunities. My Cynefin Series aims to highlight the untold stories of those who are the backbone of our economy and helped fuel Great Britain throughout the Industrial Revolution and into the future.
